Not necessarily. You could just use
'nsrjb -l -n -S <slot> -f <drive>'
and
'nsrjb -u -S <slot>'
right?

'nsrjb -l -n -S 30 -f /dev/nst0'
(possibly associated with a command to disable the drive from the
networker point of view so it doesn't try to use it while the foriegn
tape is inside).
