I had this happen a few weeks ago when we installed a new jukebox. The scsi
connection did not match the physical connection. Physical drive one, was
actually scsi drive 3.
The arm would go to the physical location, while the actual drive commands
would go to the scsi location. The fix was to move the scsi cables between
drives. Load up the drives with tapes, issue an eject one drive at a time,
move cables to correct the location.

Hello,
I think you need to check if your drives is in the correct order with
Command "sjisn btl" or put a cartridge in one drive and verify with "mt"
command the tape contains the cartridge
Kind Regards

Objet : [Networker] legato 7.1.1 and HP ultrium2 fiber drives upgrade
problem
Hi All,
I run legato 7.1.1 on windows2000 server
i used to run with HP LTO-1 scsi tape drives
i just replaced them with HP-LTO2 fiber drives
windows sees the drives fine, and i installed the latest drivers for them.
i see them fine as LTO2-SCSI when i run "inquire", but they are fiber
drives, i dont know if thats the issue.
i deleted my old jukebox and tape drives and readded them with jbconfig as
"LTO2" drives. i then rebooted the server.
my jukebox is still full of LTO1 tapes
i rebooted and tried to run an inventory and also tried to mount a tape
with legato admin.
It loads the LTO1 tape into the drive but then legato keeps saying "unload
retry, sleeping for 30 seconds" forever when i run the inventory and/or
mount a tape.
If i open the jukebox i can load and unload the tapes fine using the tape
drives buttons.
any ideas what my issue is?
i keep getting these messages:
NetWorker media: (warning) \\.\Tape3 reading: read open error: drive status
is There is not a tape in the drive
here is output of my inquire command:
