1) Regarding "failed to  initialize storage subsystem (SBT) layer" error
You need to double-check that networker media manager library is
properly linked with the oracle executable. 
2) Regarding "Oracle sid not set"
Could you sent the whole rman script? It is seems to be a problem with
"connect target" line ...
