Hello Debra:

I also did a few upgrades from 4.0F and 4.0G to 5.1b but did not have to
re-install Networker.  I may be wrong, but I think that this has nothing
to do with the upgrade.

>From the behaviour of Networker that I have observed in the past, the
problem you are describing would appear to indicate one (or more) of the
following reasons:

- Network interface problem (Bad card, misconfigured NIC.)
- Bad network cable and/or connectors.
- Bad port on the switch or defective switch.

In most cases, replacing the NIC solved the losing of connection issues.

Hope this will give you a clue to what is happening.
