The other name is coming from the client itself.
At the start of a session the client says to the server "give me the
'NSR client' resource for 'clientname.domainY'".
The server is looking up its resource database (the stuff in /nsr/res)
and doesn't see any mention of a client (or alias) with that name and
so returns "not a registered client".
As others have said, add it as an alias. This is much easier than
getting MS DOS fixed.
