Sumash, Thanks for replying.

I have tried not using hostname, using other paths and names, typing the
correct path for the drive and everything else I can think of. But I just got
a response from Legato. You can NOT get the 7.1 (2003)Storage Node Client to
communicate properly with a 6.1.3 (2000)Server. Just won't happen. Upgrade
the server to 7.1 was the official response. I guess I'm going to have to
upgrade a little sooner than I had planned but it's not the end of the world.

Thank you all for the responses and help, it's greatly appreciated.

Regards,
Phil M.

        Hello,

I'm having issues installing a remote storage node on a Win2003 client
(client has 7.1 and server has WIn2000 with 6.1.3 and savegrp patch).
I've tried disabling and enabling RSM but it doesn't matter, I run
jbconfig and I get the following message... Inquire shows the changer
and both drives. And after this message, the drives are in the Devices
location but not in the Autochanger.

        Hi,

You would have to configure the client in Legato.

Make sure the SCSI is setup 100% on the client (acces to tapes etc).

And then in the client configuration properties you add in the "storage
        node" box its own name.

You would then have to add the device (or library) to Legato in the
        devices
        tab. (rd=).

        All pretty wel documented though.

        Regards,
        riaan

We are adding a new StorageNode/Client to our current setup. What are
        the
correct steps in adding a new SN/Client into Legato?
