Every Sunday, before the backup, run a script that figures out what
volume is in the drive.  Unmount it and mark it as full.  When the
backup runs, it will have to mount the next tape.

This should work:

#!/bin/ksh

# unmount whatever is in tape drive 1
nsrjb -u -f /dev/rmt0.1

# mark the volume full that was last written to
nsrjb -o full -Y `mminfo -r volume`

exit
