This is my first post to the list so be gentle please.I'm using (Solstice
Backup 6.1.2.Build.340 Workgroup/8) and I have a problem getting my client
using savepnpc on a W2000 machine to work correctly. I'm using precmd
directives to execute a .bat file which in turn stops a service, executes a
backup command and starts the service again. I suspect that maybe the
execution of the .bat file isn't returning a success code or something along
those lines. Can anyone give some insight into the situation. Any
suggestions or idea's are gladly welcomed.

I think you've missed the point of savepnpc. Savepnpc is designed to be
able to run a single pre-command before multiple save sets in a list,
followed by a single post-command. It schedules your pre-command before
any of the save sets begin, and waits for all the save sets to complete
before running the post-command. You're not meant to put everything in
the pre-command.

It sounds like what you are doing is running a "backup command" with a
single save set. What do you have defined as your save sets? Is it a
single save set or multiples? If you are running a backup command, it
has to return some text on stdin in a certain format that matches what
save produces.
