Hey All,

Installing a newer(3.1) exchange module and then following the steps
below resolved my issue.

Thanks,

Joel

Hello Joel,

The underlying bug that has led to this situation has long been fixed in
Exchange Module (and other modules that use XBSA). For Exchange, the
fix is in 2.0-5 for Exchange Server 5.5, or 3.1 (or 3.0-11 QuickFix
build 85 or later) for Exchange Server 2000.

Thanks,
_Scott

Subject: [Networker] Cluster License problem

Hey Guys,

I have 12 NT cluster licenses and 12 NT cluster nodes. Problem is that
2 of my licenses are being "stolen" by the "virtual" servers of 4 of my
physical cluster nodes. In effect that cluster is using 6 licenses
instead of 4. Well, that causes one of my other clusters to fail due to
not enough licenses. Has anybody run it this?

My planned attack is below:

Anyone see any potential mistakes I've made?

1. /etc/init.d/networker stop

2. make a copy of /nsr/index/exchvs1.domain.edu

      make a copy of /nsr/index/exchvs2.domain.edu.

      make a copy of /nsr/res/nsrjb.res

      make a copy of /nsr/res/nsr.res

3. /etc/init.d/networker start

4. delete exchvs1.domain.edu (save client id)

      delete exchvs2.domain.edu (save client id)

5. run a manual backup of nimitz.domain.edu

6. recreate exchvs1.domain.edu using saved client id

recreate exchvs2.domain.edu using saved client id

7. run a manual backup of exchvs1.domain.edu

run a manual backup of exchvs2.domain.edu

8. run nsrlic to make sure exchvs1/exchvs2 are not using cluster
licenses

9. run a manual backup of nimitz.domain.edu(the cluster that was
failing)

nimitz should not get licensing errors

Thanks,

Joel
