I agree with the earlier post by Oscar. DLT is old technology, I mean if
you consider the physics of the tape leaders as they are employed, it is
flawed at best. AIT is also not Linear but reads from the center out so
seeks can be faster in a lot of cases. I can't speak about overall speed
though.
