Have you tried.

  +skip: *.*
  forget: *.mp3

The forget command instructs the NetWorker server to no longer apply
inherited directives.

I seem to remember reading that you should put the more general
specifications before the more specific ones.

I want to backup only *.mp3 files on the server so I created a directive
stating:

but none accomplished the goal.

Legato support got back with me and indicated there is an RFE for this
option under UNIX so it sounds like this is not possible.

Thanks to the list for the feedback.  And please inform me if you have
found
an ingenious method to do this same task.
