George,
To inventory a lib, you MUST launch the command from the node that's
controlling
the robotic arm.
As you said, the command will not work like you did.
there is well a way, using nsrexecd, to submit a command
like the following. It also supposes the servers file has correctly
be filled in.
export RUSER=root
export RCMD="nsrjb -s servername -I -S1-10"
or
export RCMD="nsrjb -I -S1-10"
nsrexec -c <target>
(replace <target> by the server or another storage node)

Thierry

Subject: [Networker] How to inventory server from storage node?
Is it possible to inventory a library attached to the primary server
from a storage node?
We have a jukebox attached to the main server called 'P1000'.
I tried this from the storage node as:
nsrjb -I -j P1000 -s server -S 12-15
also tried:
nsrjb -I -s server -S 12-15 and 'nsrjb -I -S 12-15'
None of these worked. Storage node just complained that it didn't know
about this jukebox or it just errored off. Finally gave up, logged into
primary server and ran: nsrjb -I -S 12-15
In general, can NetWorker commands directed toward server, or server's
attached storage, be run from a storage node?
Any ideas?
Thanks.
George
