Joel,

This usually means that the nsrmmd process associated with this tape device
still has a lock on it for whatever reason. Sometimes the device will go
into a writing done state when the timeout period for this device has
expired.
I have seen this quite often from time to time. Stopped and started
Networker will fix the problem however so will killing the nsrmmd process.
If you use fuser on each nsrmmd pid number you will be able to find out what
nsrmmd is associated to each tape device so you can find out what 2 nsrmmd
processes you need to kill.

Hey All,

E450

Solaris 2.6

Solstice Backup 6.1.2

StorageTek 9940B drives in a 9310 Silo

I have two drives with tapes mounted that both say "ready for writing,
idle". However I have nothing that is waiting for a tape to write. I
need to eject these two volumes but it won't let me because Networker
thinks they are being written to. Does anyone know how to force them to
unload with having to stop and start Networker?

Thanks,

Joel
