Sorry, it's apparently something new in 6.1.X and 7.0 
I was not aware of. Unless I miss something, I never found 
it in any release notes. World is moving on, Networker too ;-)

 Thierry, I hate to disagree with you, but unless you
actively choose a label template when you create a
pool, NW versions 6.x and 7 will create a label
template matching the pool you create. The labels will
consist of the name of the pool and a number ranging
from 001 to 999, separated by a ".". Check the popup
message about label templates when you create a pool!
