Hi Stephen
>a. how do i get the server to end the cloning session it thinks is running?

Try a ps -ef | grep nsrclone. If there are instances of nsrclone that are
not moving ahead, kill 'em, or restart NetWorker.

b. how do i get the server to start nsrclone?

I haven't used the GUI to start cloning, so I'll have to suggest the command
line. See the 'nsrclone' man page for suggestions on how to take the output
of 'mminfo' (which you can use to select a saveset for cloning) and use this
as input to nsrclone. Doing this at the command line may give better error
messages.

Please let us know how this goes.

Thanks

Subject: [Networker] cloning problems

Hello,
I am running 6.1.3 build 428 on Solaris 9. I have not run cloning on
this server before. I tried to do some save set clones yesterday but was
not sucessful. I used the GUI to start the process and received this
message in the window, 'Unable to start nsrclone: bad file number'. This
message appeared for any save set I selected. For a while the message
was followed by a clone complete message, but that changed and the
process never completed. I shut the server down and restarted. Now I get
this popup window message when trying to start a clone, 'cloning session
already in progress'.
I checked the log files and can not see where any attempt to start a
clone ever was logged. I understand I will have to touch files directly
to get this cleaned up. I need advice for two things;

a. how do i get the server to end the cloning session it thinks is
running?

b. how do i get the server to start nsrclone?

Thanks very much,
Steve
