I saw this once when the remote administrator started running the old
arcserve app before I started the savegroup on a new storage node.

Subject: [Networker] Device or resource busy?

Hi,

Has anyone ever seen a message in the nwadmin GUI window like:

rd=storagenode_name:/dev/nst# read open error, Device or resource busy

We're runnng an LTO tape library and a SDLT tape library on a Redhat
Linux storage node. Our primary server is running under solaris with an
older DLT7000 library. We're using NetWorker 6.1.1 on both machines.
Every now and then, I'll see this error message appear on one of the
devices being managed by the storage node. Obviously, NetWorker is
unhappy about something when this happens. Does anyone know what
mischief causes this? Does this imply a bad drive or a hardware problem
on the device. Maybe a software glitch? The other day when this
happened, the server was very busy and too bogged down for me to really
investigate. I did see the message appear for the device in the messages
section of the nwadmin window. Later, I noticed that the affected device
was happily writing with no problems. Any thoughts?

Thanks.
