[Networker] AW: [Networker] low water mark message?

Hi,

nsrd checks the remaining space of all the volumes in a jukebox ( i think
about every half an hour). In case the remaining space drops below the value
of the "minimum space" (hidden) attribute of the jukebox, a media alert
event is triggered.

For jukeboxes with a large no. of volumes and/or a slow responding media
database, this check can take quite a long time during which nsrd is totally
unresponsive to any requests.

This check is rather archaic. It doesn't even distinguish the remaining
space left per pool (pools were introduced with
NetWorker 4.0) and is therefore quite useless.

Try to disable this check by deleting the value of the "minimum space"
(hidden) attribute of the NSR jukebox resources.

Hi,

I've seen the following message pop up a few times recently in the admin
GUI:

NetWorker Media: (alert) Volumes in jukebox 'rd=henna:P1000_SDLT' have
passed the low water mark

This occured when NetWorker wanted to mount a volume from a library that
we're not using right now. Actually, the library is on line and
available, but there are no appendable tapes in it. I think NetWorker
wanted to mount a tape that was only available in that library, but that
tape is full.

Does anyone know what this means?
