Seems to me there are at least 3 options:

(1) Install a copy of Perl locally. Probably a good idea in any case for
performance reasons.

(2) Convert your script using perl2exe and call that instead

(3) I don't know if this will work, but you could try calling Perl from the
network drive using a UNC path rather than a mapped drive.

It told you that it tried and failed to run the pre-command so at least you
know it didn't just skip it. It would be more helpful if it gave you a "file
not found" error, but we can't expect everything can we?
