Chris,

In the old days of Networker (v4), the index files were holey.  cp was not the
way to go.  The Admin Guide used to tell you to use "uasm" to move indexes as
it will preserve the holes.  ufsdump is a good choice as well.  Check the
Admin Guide and Tech Bulletins for more info.
