I have the following problem.
FYI, the client is WinNT Server running 6.1.2, the server is Tru64 Unix
running 5.5.3 (yes, I know you shouldn't run the server at a lower major
revision than the clients, but I have to for now and have been for a long
time and this problem just cropped up a couple of weeks ago AND we have many
other clients with similar configs that work just fine.).

* egghead:SYSTEM STATE:\ 1 retry attempted
* egghead:SYSTEM STATE:\ rcmd egghead, user root: `save -s franklin -g
"Backup NOW - Critical" -LL -m egghead -t 1037828264 -l 1 -W78 -N "SYSTEM
STATE:\\" "SYSTEM STATE:\\"'
* egghead:SYSTEM STATE:\
* egghead:SYSTEM STATE:\ Performance Counters - Starting save
* egghead:SYSTEM STATE:\ C:\WINNT\system32\perfc009.dat
* egghead:SYSTEM STATE:\ C:\WINNT\system32\perfh009.dat
* egghead:SYSTEM STATE:\ C:\WINNT\system32\perfC009.BAK
* egghead:SYSTEM STATE:\ C:\WINNT\system32\perfH009.BAK
* egghead:SYSTEM STATE:\ Performance Counters - Saved
* egghead:SYSTEM STATE:\
* egghead:SYSTEM STATE:\ Internet Information Services - Starting save
* egghead:SYSTEM STATE:\ C:\WINNT\system32\inetsrv\MetaBase.bin
* egghead:SYSTEM STATE:\ Internet Information Services - Saved
* egghead:SYSTEM STATE:\
* egghead:SYSTEM STATE:\ Registry - Starting save
* egghead:SYSTEM STATE:\ C:\WINNT\system32\config\SECURITY_NSR
* egghead:SYSTEM STATE:\ C:\WINNT\system32\config\software_NSR
* egghead:SYSTEM STATE:\ C:\WINNT\system32\config\system_NSR
* egghead:SYSTEM STATE:\ C:\WINNT\system32\config\default_NSR
* egghead:SYSTEM STATE:\ C:\WINNT\system32\config\SAM_NSR
* egghead:SYSTEM STATE:\ Registry - Saved
* egghead:SYSTEM STATE:\ /
* egghead:SYSTEM STATE:\ save: SYSTEM error: I/O error
* egghead:SYSTEM STATE:\ save: shutdown failed

Note that the REGISTRY backs up just fine, but everything else (SYSTEM
STATE, C:\ and F:\) fails as demonstrated above.

Nothing unusual shows up in the client's Event Log. Nothing else of interest
shows up in the server's logs.
The owner of the client has (on my request): (1) checked all the hardware on
the client, (2) rebooted the client a couple of times, (3) deinstalled the
client software and reinstalled it.
I have deinstalled and reinstalled the client definition on the server.
All to no avail.

Can anyone provide any suggestions?

Thanks,
Cyndi
