There is a util on Quantum's site called "DLTtools". I beleive it has the
ability to reset a device. I may be wrong, but have a look. It is a
windows util.

Subject: [Networker] How to reset a DLT 7000?
(Networker server 6.1.2, Solaris 8)
Have any of you written code to tell a DLT 7000 to reset itself, as
if you had done a power cycle to it? We recently upgraded from DLT
4000s to the 7000s, and are having problems where a tape won't eject.
The problems can be fixed by a power-cycle of the drive, but I'd
prefer to be able to send some sort of drive reset command. Any
ideas?
