Hello Osvaldo,

usually I would agree - but this time not.
first is it is explicitly allowed from Legato,
second is, there is no 6.2 for Solaris. 6.2 is an Windows XP compatibility
release of 6.1.2

But one thing is for sure - never ever try to backup a 6.x client on a 5.x
Server

I certainly would not do it. NEVER. Always run a higher server level. That's
a must

About two months ago I was told by Legato Tech Support that any combination
of 6.x clients and servers is acceptable, e.g. 6.0.2 server with 6.1.1
clients is OK. I don't have any experience with 6.2.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Terry. Unfortunately, 6.2 server appears to only be available on
Windows. My 6.0.2 server is running off of a Solaris box. Also, I have
many clients running Win XP and the 6.0.2 client and not getting this
error -- just a select few. I haven't narrowed it down to be Networker
or OFM yet. I was just asking here to see if anyone'd seen this.

But I am curious if anyone has any experience running 6.2 clients
against a 6.0.2 server.

Dave
