My 2 cents :
Seems to be DNS/FQDN/NFQDN prob.

Maybe just adding/filling correctly the alias field
in the client's config can help ....

Bob,

The NetWorker server is saying, "this client name is not one that I
recognize". This is a name resolution issue where the server and client
don't agree on the client's name.

It is important to make sure that both server and client have the same
names
for each other.

Windows 2000 can include the Windows domain name as part of the FQDN.
For
example, xyz.<domain>.legato.com instead of the expected xyz.legato.com.

By the way, you should be using NetWorker 5.7 or 6.something to back up
Windows 2000. 5.5.x does not understand the Windows 2000 system state.

Wes

It seems to me that you would be getting a different error message if
your
problem were DNS related.

"XXXXX is not a registered client" indicates a Networker config issue to
me.
