Stan, although this will work, it really doesn't scale beyond a few
directories, and could make your config very complicated. I always try to
avoid using more pools than I need.

Very possibly true, but it depends on the circumstances. Saveset recover is
usually quicker due to not referencing the index, but if you need a genuine
point-in-time recovery it's not quite the right match. Often it's good
enough though. Some sites use fulls all the time, and in this case a
saveset recover would definitely be better.
