Dale,
In the bcv backup scripts we wrote, we are always using -w and -e flags
to force browse and retention policies.
Be aware than :
till 6.0.2 : browse policy is option -w
retention -e
after 6.0.2 : browse policy is option -w
retention -y <- NEW !!!
and a new -e option has been created.
It caused us some troubles with our retentions. You may have
a look at your scripts !
HTH,
Thierry

Subject: [Networker] Issues with -c option of save command under 6.1.2
FYI,
NetWorker Landscape:
HP-UX 11.0 Main Server
NetWorker 6.1.2
Issue:
Incorrect browse and retention dates on all SSIDs of any 6.1.2
client
that are created utilizing the -c <client_name> option
The creation, browse and retention dates are the same
Our tapes weren't recycling properly (make that any tape with SSIDs from
an
"affected" client).
We use this "feature" heavily for higher-speed backups of BCV-protected
data
(EMC nomenclature).
6.0.x clients work as designed...this problem started when we upgraded
clients to 6.1.2.
I don't know if it impacts non-HP environments...but one of you can
check
and let us know.
Case has been opened with Legato Support.
