actually, you don't even need that.  Slackware comes with a program
called "rpm2tgz".  I would copy all the RPMs you think you will need
from the directories on the Legato CD (LGTOclnt LGTOman ...) to /tmp
or some such and then run rpm2tgz on each one.  This will turn them into
tarballs that you can untar and install the old fassioned way.
