Hi Amit, here is a how-to that I wrote a year or so ago. It includes more than
you are asking for (encrypted backups on removable drives for one), and is
specific to eSATA drives,  but the rest should be applicable, adaptable  and
possibly helpful to you (vchanger, udev, autofs)

Take a look and let me know if this helps. Comments and suggestions are
welcome of course.
