Hi Alan

Thanks for your reponse.

I have a number of these sorts of errors in syslog/kernel.log:

Feb 17 12:51:57 clwbackup kernel: [246270.502717] st0: Sense Key : Medium Error
[current]
Feb 17 12:51:57 clwbackup kernel: [246270.502725] st0: Add. Sense: Sequential
positioning error
Feb 17 13:35:09 clwbackup kernel: [248858.447127] st0: Sense Key : Aborted
Command [current]
Feb 17 13:35:09 clwbackup kernel: [248858.447131] st0: Add. Sense: Tagged
overlapped commands (task tag 0)
Feb 17 17:13:50 clwbackup kernel: [ 2.285988] sd 0:0:0:0: [sda] Mode Sense:
cb 00 00 08
Feb 17 18:00:47 clwbackup kernel: [ 2981.278175] st0: Sense Key : Aborted
Command [current]
Feb 17 18:00:47 clwbackup kernel: [ 2981.278180] st0: Add. Sense: Tagged
overlapped commands (task tag 0)

I'm not clear if these are SAS errors (I'm using the mvsas kernel module) or
if there is a problem with the drive, which is what Dell hav esuggested.

This drive has been working fine for 6 months up until now, and I haven't
changed anything on the machine.

Regards
Rory
