Martin,

Believe it or not, a typo... (hence I'm an idiot).

I can ping from both Emma to the public boxes and back again (as well as
telnet) w/o problems.

I can always change it to an IP address ...

Are you using a fqdn in the director storage config and can the remote
clients
resolve it?
