Yes, your speculation is totally right. The installed software preserved 
the original creation date and that caused my problem with the backup.

The suggestion with TOUCH command actually solved my problem. I have 
runned the following command ** on the directory and all files and 
directores have the timestamp changed. Now the backup should backup all 
files.

** find /DIR * -print -exec touch {} \;
