The regression testing is a great tool. Without it, bugs and compile
errors could go a long time without being noticed.

We have a good variety of regression testing at the moment, I think we
can expand it further if we put out the call to the user base. It is
also an easy way for non-coders to contribute to the project with
minimal effort. Many people want to contribute, but don't know how.
It's all about getting people involved.

I foresee us putting out a request for specific regression testing
combinations for the areas in which we see a vacuum.

But before that, I think we need to establish our needs, then see what
is missing.

The ideal situation would be regressions testing on all combinations of:

* operating system
(http://www.bacula.org/en/dev-manual/main/main/Supported_Operating_Systems.html)
* databases (all supported versions of PostgreSQL, MySQL, and SQLite)
* supported Bacula versions

If we get the chance, but I don't think it is as vital:

* hardware (e.g. 32 bit hardware, Intel, AMD)

I'm also sure that various configuration options might also be
beneficial, but I think the above are basically more important.

What releases do you want to see tested? The latest release? The
development branch?

Questions?  Comments?
