Max Full Interval and Max Diff Interval seem like a great idea,
thanks!

An extension of this concept would be great for automated handling of
laptops, i.e. so users don't need to manually request backups of
laptops. Here is a feature request form.

Item 29: laptops: Max Incr Interval, Level=check, error suppression

What: Set up a Max Incr Interval analagous to Max Diff Interval.

Set up a new Level=Check, which does nothing by default, but
will escalate to an Incremental, Differential, or Full if the
relevant Max intervals have been exceeded. A "check" level
can be run once an hour or even more often. If all systems
were successful during the last scheduled nightly, nothing
happens during the Check, but if one or more systems were
down, they are retried because one of the Max intervals will
            be exceeded.

The above would be sufficient to backup the laptops, but
would still result in a lot of error email. So some error
            suppression:

Per-job directive "noerror if unreachable for = 3 days". So
if a laptop is unreachable over the weekend, that's OK, but
if it's unreachable for a week, we get email.

Per job directive "noerror if unreachable until =
2009-04-25": if someone has a laptop out for a long
conference, I don't want to have to change their "noerror if
unreachable for" because then I have to remember to reset it
            when they come back.

Why: this would completely automate handling for laptops and
desktops that routinely go offline during the scheduled
         backup window.
