Hello everybody. I've been testing the following idea: What happens when a job runs and the client is offline. I've read about the default timeout of 30 mins, and applied the following option in the config: "FD Connect Timeout = 2 days"
My test machines are: Server - Linux debian Etch 2.6.18-6-486, Bacula Version: 2.4.2 (26 July 2008) Client - Windows XP Service Pack 3, alex-fd Version: 2.4.3 (10 October 2008)
I manually closed the FD on the client, and then ran the job. **server JobId 24: Warning: bsock.c:123 Could not connect to Client: alex-fd on 192.168.103.227:9102. ERR=Connection refused Retrying ... and **status director: Backup_Alex.2009-02-20_13.50.13 is waiting for Client alex-fd to connect to Storage alex-fd
If i start the client soon enough, the job will continue and end successfully. The
problem is if I start the client after a higher amount of time, like an hour or so, it will not resume the backup.
***after 2 hours: 15:54 server JobId 24: Warning: bsock.c:123 Could not connect to Client: alex-fd on 192.168.103.227:9102. ERR=Connection refused Retrying ... *status director: Backup_Alex.2009-02-20_13.50.13 is waiting for Client alex-fd to connect to Storage alex-fd *status of the FD is: Running Jobs: JobId 24 Job Backup_Alex.2009-02-20_13.50.13 is running. And after this, nothing happens anymore. Furthermore: *cancel Automatically selected Job: JobId=24 Job=Backup_Alex.2009-02-20_13.50.13 Confirm cancel (yes/no): yes 2001 Job Backup_Alex.2009-02-20_13.50.13 marked to be canceled. 3904 Job
