Any firewall or router between the DIR and the FD? The connection is 
reset after filling a volume takes from 2:55 to 4:24 and some 
intermediate device or software probably considers this connection 
stale and closes it.

You can either fix the settings responsible for that, or give the 
"Heartbeat Interval" directive a try.
