Hi,

we are using a Tandberg T40 lib for about one year also. The lib has 2xLTO3 SCSI drives and the lib is running very well. There are no issues so far.

We have migration speeds from harddisk to lib of about 50 MB/s per tape drive. This is caused probably by the harddisk subsystem and the CPU speed (only 2x2,8 GHz Xeon single core). We think that using faster cpus (AMD/Intel Quadcore) and more RAM (for Mysql) we can utilise both LTO3 drives completely (2x80-160 MB/s).

Bacula is running on a Debian Etch with 64bit code. Raid for disk storage is a 3Ware 9550SX Raid5 with 6x750 GB harddisks, but Areca controllers seams to be better (we have two Areaca 1280 24-port adapter in two storageservers).

So long
Michael

Hello list,
has anybody experiences with Tandberg T40 and Bacula?
Which features are supported and how fast is writing to this storage?

Regards,
Volker Lieder
