That is a 2 year old version of bacula if you can upgrade. Although in
this case it will not fix this problem.

Is the director running?

# ps -ef | grep bacula

Did you set the password in bconsole.conf to match the password in
bacula-dir.conf?

Did you use 127.0.0.1 or localhost in any of your bacula config files?
