I created a login credentials to add in the BackupPC server.
server1.example.com:
useradd -m falko
passwd falko
In addition to that I createa a password for falko for the BackupPC web
interface:
server1.example.com:
htpasswd /etc/backuppc/htpasswd falko
but I cannot connect.

I opened the htpasswd file and the username that I created was inside but I
cannot login using that non-user account. A comment "a user name successfully
added" after I created the account.

I don't understand the problem. What do you mean by 'another browser'?

Backuppc web interface users don't need to be system users, unless that is
where the user will expect to receive the email.

Have you configured apache to require authentication for backuppc?
And can this user log in?

And what is the problem? Non-admin users should be able to log in and only see
the hosts where they are specified as the user.
