If you can resolve names through DNS, it is best to leave dhcp unchecked 
even if you use dhcp with fixed IPs or dynamic DNS updates.  Checking 
the dhcp box makes backuppc use nmblookup to resolve names which will 
work with windows if you don't have anything else, but it is quirky at best.
