I don't know of any difference in 3.2.0, but BackupPC_nightly has to 
traverse the entire pool tree looking for files with only one link and 
remove them - which can take a long time.  You can configure 
BackuPCNightlyPeriod to make it only do some fraction of the pool each 
night.
