You can achieve this with either NAT on your router combined with a
dynamic DNS service, or with OpenVPN.  I'd recommend OpenVPN.

Make sure that the hosts that are being backed up can only be accessed via
SSH key, not via password.  This will reduce the likelihood that someone
else may successfully log in to your systems from anywhere else.  (Also,
if you set up OpenVPN, and configure OpenSSH to only listen on the VPN
interface, that will help too.)
