Thanks for the response,
The status.pl file is present, and is being written to, I see a  
current file, plus an hour old file "status.pl.old"
Do you have any other suggestions where to look?

I realized I mis-spoke in my original email, we didn't have to fully  
restore the array, it was just a simple rebuild.  One of the disks  
crashed, and was replaced, and the array was rebuilt.  The box did  
crash one due to a problem with the rebuild, but everything else on  
the box is running fine now, but the email problem did seem to start  
after the RAID was rebuilt.
