[BackupPC-users] Can't run backup (rsyncd) with enabled Firewall Win XP over VPN
2008-07-07 17:00:10
Hello,
on one client I have a problem to run my backups with rsyncd when the
Win XP Firewall is up.
The client is connected via VPN to the server and I can run a backup
when the windows firewall is off.
When it is on it doesn't work, of course I added a rule to allow
connections on port 873 on my client and when I look at
netstat -an | find "listening"
to find out which ports are open and listening I get a line:
TCP 0.0.0.0:873 0.0.0.0:0 LISTENING
So it seems that rsyncd ore at least something else is running on port 873!?
Question: Any ideas why I can't backup with the firewall enabled?
Regards from Berlin
