Last night it apparently thought it had to do the whole system, and of course
failed since my 'tapesize' is only 12.5GB. It mailed me this:

Since I'm running vtapes, a verify pass is essentially free, so that is
also being gone by my backup.sh script, which is part of the
GenesAmandaHelper package, and that returned this error message:

The previous 2 or 3 days it had only been doing around 8GB, and didn't seem to
be shuffling things to fill up the tape like it should have.
I can remember when I was using DDS2's a couple of eons ago, that it would
very reliably fill a DDS2 tape to 98% capacity every night. I haven't
changed my amanda.conf since then other than to enable autoflush, and after
converting to vtapes, adjusting the tapesize since then.
'estimate' is not set & should then default to client, the most accurate
method. But planner doesn't seem to be listening very well.
Ideas anyone?
