Hi,
We use amanda-2.5.0 for our backup requirements.
The backup failed yesterday and the error message received in the email
is as given below. Would like to get some advice about why this error may have occurred.
FAILURE AND STRANGE DUMP SUMMARY: toe.tti.tensilica.com /vol/vol1/home lev 3 FAILED [data write: Broken pipe] driver: FATAL Don't know how to send ABORT command to chunker chunker: FATAL error [bad command after RQ-MORE-DISK: "QUIT"]

Also, after running the "ps -ef" command I observe that the "amdump" process is still running. The ouput of
"ps -ef | grep amanda" is as follows:
30318 20267 1 0 Aug16 ? 00:00:00 /usr/lib/amanda/sendbackup
root 20273 20267 93 Aug16 ? 16:00:37 gtar --create --file - --directory /vol/vol1/home --one-file-system --listed-incremental /var/lib/amanda/gnutar-lists/toe.tti.tensilica.com_vol_vol1_home_3.new --sparse --ignore-failed-read --totals .

Is it OK if I kill this process using "kill -15 <pid>" or should I
use something like "amcleanup" before I execute today's backup?

Thanks in advance.

Yogesh
