amlabel: tape is write protected

Hi all,

 

When I tried to label a tape using amlabel, I got an error “amlabel: tape is write protected”.  Does anybody know how to fix it?  Right now, I am running mt –f /dev/nst0 erase.  It’s taking forever.  Is there any fast way to commission a tape?  Thank you, Lei
