I was wrong, Amanda *was* built with gmake 3.80. I have rebuilt the system, recompiled Amanda as well but got same error. I will need to go back to 2.4.4 apparently.


It's not gmake that is important, but gcc (and gcc 3.80 does not exist
AFAIK).  What does gcc --version say?

[candyman] /opt/amanda# /usr/bin/gcc --version
2.95.4

[candyman] /opt/amanda# /usr/local/bin/gmake --version
GNU Make 3.80
