thats exactly the same output I've had prior asking the amanda-users forum.
I would be really surprised if anything different from my first eMail would
occur...
Its still the same - with dd I can write the whole file to the tape and
amanda is unable to do the same. There a no space left on device error
occurs...

Fine, now you can be sure that this tape, even when labelled with
"amlabel" has hardware compression off.

I would try to flush again with this tape (after you amlabelled it
ofcourse).
