I have just switched to tar (been using dump for years) but I am now
getting an error message I do not understand:

$ amcheck -c Daily

I thought I must have an older tar on wookie so I updated to the newest
but it made no difference.

Can anyone explain what the likely problem is and how to fix it?

My exclude list in amanda.conf is:

    exclude "./tmp" "./var/qmail/queue" "./var/log" "*/logs/*"
