Has anyone created a script that queries the database, and reports what
bacuos exist, and what tape they aren on, that they would be willing to
share?

Something like:

amadmin ConFig find
or maybe
amadmin ConFig info

I generate a postscript label with amreport that is stored with the
tape, and there is amtoc which does the same, but in a different
format, but these two are best run just after the backup.
