I am sure you guys have seen this line dozens of times on the list.
However, after digging in the Mail Archive for 2 weeks trying various
things, I have found no remedy.  Just as an f.y.i., my last amanda build was
using  Gene Heskett's script from the archive. I have set up a .amandahosts
file in config dir chown'd to amanda.backup  amanda.backup owns the backup
configuration directories and the executables.

I really need help and can provide any diagnostic info if you could point me
in the right direction.

System info -> Redhat 8.0 headless server, Amanda 2.4.4p2, config dir
/usr/local/etc/amanda
